​Week 44, Day 3 and 4
November 2-3, 2022
Scripture: John 13-14
 
 
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”” (John 13:35)
 
John 13 and 14 offer us incredible comfort and strength. Christ is no longer with us as he was, but he sends his Holy Spirit, the Advocate to us to care for us, lead us and give us peace. We are not alone.
 
Jesus gives us peace!
 
He also instructs us to love. The world is filled with trouble. While he offers us his peace and strength, he also commissions us to love one another. Obey and trust him! Love as Christ loved us!

​Week 44, Day 2
November 1, 2022
Scripture: John 12
 
“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” (John 12:46)
 
I was driving this early morning in the darkness and the heavy fog. Some of the heaviest fog I’ve ever experienced. I came upon Old 30, not realizing fully that It was Old 30. I couldn’t see my usual landmarks to know for certain where I was and which direction I needed to turn. It was intimidating and alarming, to be honest.
 
It’s an appropriate illustration for today’s text. Simply, Jesus has come so that we may see and find the way. Darkness has overwhelmed the earth. All have turned and gone their own way. All are lost.
 
But Christ Jesus has come to point us to the Father, to rescue us from our sins and pull us out of the darkness.
 
I wouldn’t ever want to drive into that sort of darkness and fog without light.
 
We believe in Christ, we walk in the darkness no more. Christ lights our way. Trust in Him!
