Day 48 – February 17, 2021
Scriptures: Exodus 37-38 and 2 Corinthians 5 Our Exodus reading continues to give details on the Tabernacle. The Tabernacle will be used by the Levites, the priests, to offer sacrifices to God, and continually seek the forgiveness and blessings of God. The Ark, the table, the courtyard, the lampstand, each of these items play a part in communicating with God, reconciling, seeking God’s forgiveness. When we arrive in our reading over in 2 Corinthians 5, we are reminded that we are a New Creation in Christ. The old is gone and the new has come! The closing hope is, “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. We share in the righteousness of God, because of Jesus Christ.
