Day 208 – July 27, 2021
Scriptures: 1 Chronicles 14-15, Luke 15 “As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from her window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.” – 1 Chronicles 15:29 There was bitterness or jealousy in Luke 15 too. Something ugly anyways that came out of the older brother when the father killed the fattened animal for the celebration. The parable of the Prodigal son is a well known story. There is a lot to turn our attention towards in the story. Forgiveness, benevolent kindness from God, patience, the pursuit of God for the lost. The celebration of sinners rescued and saved! There is so much there. In today’s reading, I turn inwardly and reflect on my tendency to be like the older brother. Do I share in the joy of God’s presence, forgiveness and reconciliation of lost sinners? Or am I judgmental, bitter, jealous and more? Do we share in the joy of the lost sinner being found? Do we celebrate the joy of God’s presence? Something to think about. Take time to enjoy the loving presence of God today! Jordan
