​Day 270 – September 27, 2021
Scriptures: Jeremiah 3-4, 1 Thessalonians 2
“For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.” (1 Thessalonians 2:11–12)
We are called to live lives worthy of God, who calls us into the kingdom and glory.
That is not unlike what Jeremiah is declaring on behalf of the Lord to the people of Judah. God is calling them out of the darkness and into the light. They are spoken of as dearly loved spouse. Though they have turned adulterously away from God, he still beckons them to come home and repent.
Paul celebrates a new dawn of a new life made possible through Christ. WE take on this Gospel, the hop e of a new life in the kingdom of God.
Live our lives worthy of this gospel, not turning away from God but drawing closer to him.
