Day 278 – October 5, 2021
Scriptures: Jeremiah 23-24, Hebrews 5, Psalms 110 “My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them. I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.” (Jeremiah 24:6–7) “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” (Hebrews 5:14) We are called to be those who know the Lord, distinguish from good and evil. God is calling us to him and he is giving us a new heart. We enjoy this new life and new heart in Christ. The challenge of Hebrews 5 is that some are not growing in their faith. An important self-assessment is presented for each of us as we navigate both Jeremiah and Hebrews. Am I growing in my faith? Am I still an infant or am I eating solid food, distinguishing the truth and growing in it? Let us return to the Lord, with all of our heart! Jordan
