Day 316 – November 12, 2021
Scriptures: Ezekiel 36, Acts 1, Psalm 108 Ezekiel 36:26–30 (ESV) 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. 28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. 29 And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. And I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you. 30 I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. Acts 1:8 (ESV) 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Psalm 108:1 (ESV) 1 My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being! Psalm 108:4 (ESV) 4 For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. God gives us the Spirit of Christ, and with it a new heart. The promised of a new life and new hope back in Ezekiel is fulfilled in Christ and the giving of the Spirit. We join the psalmist in celebrating – “My heart is steadfast, O God!”
